Kekkaishi (結界師, lit. "Barrier Master") is a supernatural manga series written and illustrated by Yellow Tanabe. It is about Yoshimori, a 14-year-old guy who loves baking and loves to sleep and Tokine, a 16-year-old girl who is just about the complete opposite of Yoshimori. Yoshimori and Tokine's families are feuding over who is the true heir to the Karasumori site, which is the powerfully magical land that the two families are sworn to protect. Both Yoshimori and Tokine's families have supernatural powers. They can create and manipulate kekkai, which are magical barriers.
Sorry 'bout how it's backwards, but that's the way that manga's printed. Anyway, in both Yoshimori and Tokine's families, a hoin will appear at irregular intervals on the legitimate heir of the generation.
